Band of Brothers Racing

It's been a while since our last post. Since that time the team competed the Wendover 200 and in the 40th Anniversary of the the Baja 1000 - making it over 360 miles before the car gave out. We're still at it though, and we're pleased to announce our first race of 2008 will be the BORE Racing Wendover 250 on May 3rd in Wendover, NV. We're excited for this race as our chief mechanic, Sterling, has been hard at work rewiring the entire car from top to bottom. He started by pulling out every piece of wiring in the car after the Baja and started from scratch. Along with a great new circuit breakers, the great guys at Littell International also worked up a new dash system with integrated GPS and all new switches. Wish us luck on Saturday!

Here are some pictures from the Jackpot 200 BORE Offroad Race: Race Pictures The race was better than the SNORE race, but we still weren't able to finish. The first two laps we were plagued by a plugged fuel-filter, which caused the engine to pretty much have no power. On the 2nd part of the 2nd lap, Todd rolled the car onto it's side with Dave in it. No damage was done and Dave and Todd simply rolled the buggy back over and finished lap 2. On Lap 3, Rod was flying and right after check 2 we broke a spring plate. So the race ended there. We learned a lot - remember the correct radio frequency, bring spark plugs, bring oil for the pits, as well as in the car.

The team was out in force this morning doing last minute checks on the car. The oil was changed, the engine was timed, and everything loaded up. They're headed up to the BORE Jackpot 200 race tomorrow morning.

After a long 2 1/2 months, Band of Brothers Racing is back in business. We picked up our new engine from the builder Saturday morning, and by Saturday evening we were rolling through the desert. It was great to get back in the Nine Car. We're pretty much all set now for our next race - the BORE Jackpot.

Check out the bodywork and painting done by Shane and Marty! This thing looks so smooth and shiny it'll be sad to see it get dirty and banged up on Saturday.

The truck was picked up in Vegas at the end of January, and given it's first run out on the Lake bed... It needs a little work...
